K2 (Karakorum 2)
At 8,611 metres or 28,250 feet above sea level K2 is the second highest mountain in the world and is also the most feared and dangerous one too. There have only been around 190 summits and 49 climbers have died. So you can see where the reputation has come from. We thought we would open this page and just add links, facts and anything which may interest you about the mountain considered by most the ultimate climb in mountaineering.

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to set foot on this formidable mountain, click on one of the pictures and follow Sergei Baranov through his pictures.

There are some stunning pictures on his site and also a few showing the many dangers faced on this mountain. After viewing these you will either love K2 or be put off for life!
