The Chepstow area has so much to offer.

When Andy suggested we had a climbing session in Chepstow it was to good to turn down. Andy had previously visited the area and had picked a few routes out which he wanted to try. So everything was set to go. Early on a sunday morning in August we headed across the Severn bridge and into Chepstow. Thanks to Andy's little recky trip we were straight to the parking spot and standing on top of Chepstow gorge in no time.

I did have my concerns when when Andy jumped over a wall and started climbing down the gorge which looked like a shear drop from where i was standing.

But as i followed him down a steep winding track became more apparent.

We started with an easy climb to wake up the muscles and blow out a few cobwebs, well for me anyway! But we were soon climbing with confidence and on the second route attacked a harder route which was fairly varied and finished with a nice steep wall section. A great climb and just enough for the first trip.

Chepstow has so much climbing to offer and is well worth visiting and getting a guide book for. Check it out for yourself.
