Putsborogh is a sandy beach at the very far end of Woolacombe and has a small rocky outcrop on the left hand side where a nice break can be found. If Croyde and Woolacombe are blown out, Putsborough can be cleaner due to it being sheltered by the headland. There is a car park, a shop, a toilet and a caravan site situated at this end of the beach. Unless you are staying in a guest house the only access to this beach is either by walking up from woolacombe beach or from the car park. The car parks costs £3.50 per car and we think about £4 for a van. There are no pubs here, the nearest being Croyde but in the day you can get hot drinks and hot food from the shop on the beach. Be aware of the strong current and rips which can pull you into the rocks on the left hand side. On one occasion we witnessed a surfer being rescued by a local which resulted in the local's board hitting the rocks and taking a huge chunk out of it. Use your head an steer clear of the rocks if you are a beginner.
